Northeast
Television (NETV), the first private satellite channel
of the eight northeastern states, is today the premier
television network of the region. Undisputably the best,
its popularity is a quotient of the unbiased live news
relayed on prime time as well as the entertainment programs
that have never before been woven especially for the
region.
A multilingual channel, NETV programs in local languages
which penetrate the masses and provide top of the line
entertainment and news. The channel boasts of eight
LIVE bureaus in each of the eight Northeastern states
namely Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur,
Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Sikkim. NETV uplinks
from its own private teleport and earth station at Guwahati.
It owns and runs 8 state of the art studios and shooting
floors where in-house programs are generated and edited.
We have two OB vans through which elections and other
important events are being covered live for the first
time in this sensitive region. Notably, during the last
assembly elections, live video feeds to other channels
were being provided by NETV.
NETV can today claim 90 per cent of the C & S penetration
in Assam and about 80 per cent in the remaining seven
states of the region. Where cable does not exist, we
reach out to viewers in the hills through DISHNET, the
Zee bouquet of direct to home (DTH) channels. The channel
is therefore available across the country to all viewers. |
